Remix visualization

A few weeks ago (Apr 15 to be exact) we released a visualization linked from every project that has been remixed. This visualization shows the connections between remixers.  We hope you find it useful.

Re: Remix visualization

I love it Andrés! Its very useful, and much easier to use than a long list.  smile

I think a "friend visualization" would be cool too... ("..." as in: "I'm making a mockup! brb!"  lol )

It's awesome! It has the feel of Scratch 2.0 for some reason...  tongue

Interesting. What would you use that for?

Re: Remix visualization

It's wonderful! It's much easier to look at than a list, and very pretty besides!  smile

I think that the friend visualisation would be used to see:
- Who has added you to their friends, but not vice-versa
- Who you have added to your friends, but not vice-versa
- Who you have added to your friends, and the person added you to their friends, as well.

Re: Remix visualization

Great!

Like Jonathanpb said, it really feels flashey and fluid.

Kind of how I see Scratch 2.0.

Re: Remix visualization

It's very smooth. Great job!

If it's not Flash, I wonder if you could theoretically use it on the iPhone...

Re: Remix visualization

It is not Flash, it is JavaScript and CSS. It should work on the iPhone.

Re: Remix visualization

I discovered it when looking at my "little pointless project." I noticed there were quite a few remixes, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the new visualization!

I really think it adds a lot to the ol' remix list.

Re: Remix visualization

I've seen the remix visualization since I've joined Scratch in May 2010. It's awesome, but it has one problem. If there is a kazillion remixes and you click on one corcle with a user's name underneath it, it brings mee to a diffrent user. Maybe you guys should try to fix that the next time you update the website.

I noticed that too... sometimes, if I click one of the "remix circles", it shows me the project below it by one place...  hmm

Re: Remix visualization

Oh yeah! It's awesome!  smile

Also, previously I noticed that for a period of time, you would get notifications of people who remixed your project - but it seems that it disappeared soon after. Why is this? Is it because the Scratch Team was getting contacted too often about remixes wanted to be removed, or something similar?

For example, the remix visualization wouldn't work if a user is running an old browser or has JavaScript turned off.
Or even worse, the CSS problem

Re: Remix visualization

Hey, I know this is a pretty big bump for this thread, but I was wondering if there was a way to have the remix visualization more spread out. I was trying to look at the remix chain of a late project of mine, only to find it hard to trace the chain http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/cheddar … 02786/mods
