I have Scratch located on a shared network drive. I can run the executable fine from most PCs, but there is one PC that gives an error message when I try to run the Scratch executable:
"Could not open the Squeak image file"
Any ideas? I am using Windows XP.

Hi, Joshcp.
I haven't heard of this problem before. Since your other machines work fine, it must be something about the configuration of that particular machine. I wonder if you could have an older Scratch installation on that machine? If so, you might try deleting it, then making a new alias to the Scratch.exe on the network drive. As a more extreme experiment, you could try re-installing Scratch on your network drive by running the installer on that particular machine. This might create a shortcut for Scratch that works correctly.
Best of luck--and me know if any of these solutions works...

If it is a Windows machine, chance are high that it is virus-infected. A program that works on other machines but not on that one is a strong signal that the machine is corrupted.

There is no Scratch installation on the local machines. I am running the Scratch executable off the network drives. On the machine in question, it works fine if I run the Scratch .exe from drive S, but not from drive Q (Scratch is located on both network drives separately).
Other machines, however, can run Scratch fine from either location.
The fact that the problem machine can run Scratch okay from another location makes me think it is not a config problem with that PC.
But, the fact that other machines can run Scratch okay from that particular location makes me think it is not a problem with the Scratch files either.
It's weirding me out.
There is no alias directly to Scratch on the local machines. The drives are mapped. And Scratch has not been installed on the network drives, I am using the non-install version.
