I'm making a tutorial project called "Broadcast Tutorial!!!!" that has at least 7 costumes and 7 recordings. I worked hard on it, but whenever I try to save it, a message keeps popping up saying this:
"Save failed: Unknown class HaloMorph". I was fooling around with a variable before I decided to make my tutorial by useing WatcherMorph thing explained in a user's tutorial (You can likely guess who it is). I want to save my project without that error popping up! I don't want to delete the project by X-ing out of Scratch, because I worked hard on it!!! Can someone tell me how to fix this without deleting this project I've worked hard on?

And when I tried to upload it, here's what it said:
Failed: Serialization: Unknown class HaloMorph

Did you mod scratch in any way? Did you find any glitches during the making of the project? What did you (try to) name it as?
This is quite strange, but I'll try my best to help you

Did you find any glitches during the making of the project? Whenever I scrolled in the Paint Editor, it wouldn't let me type unless if I clicked the screen twice

Hmm... try less exclamation marks maybe? I'm not sure...
You said you fooled around with a variable-what did you do exactly?

1: I turned the fill screen off
2: I alt-clicked the variable until it said "Watcher" in pink words with all these options(I named the variable "Variable"
)
3: I clicked the red menu option over the "Watcher" text.
4: I selected "Raise bevel"
5: I later deleted the variable and made my tutorial
All I got the instructions from was from a project that showed how to do it.

Actually, that's normal.
Also, it's pretty bad if there's a problem with the haloMorph, the halo is the ring of buttons that comes up when you alt-click on an object when fill screen is off. I'm not sure how to fix it though.

Hmm... did you save the image with the fill screen off?
Could you export the sprites and copy the script for the stage? BEcause I don't think there's a way to stop this without either closing scratch or reinstalling it
Sorry that I couldn't be of much help.

fixing it should be as easy as... pie.
you simply (tried to) save the project while the halo was still showing. since it can't save that stuff, it brought up an error. to avoid loosing your work, turn fillscreen off, SHIFT-click on the grey space and select halomorph. now click on the grey space it should go away. then you can save it fine

I got stuck trying to press Save last night without getting the error. I ended up deleting the project. But keep this open, in case if it happens again! I'm gona try to make the broadcasting tutorial again!

I have the same problem now...
I changed variable background colors as shown in scratch.mit.edu/projects/Xion777/2347523 and wrote a project with too many sprites to save sprite for sprite...
No saving, searched the forums... just tried:

By trying this hint Scratch freezed, now i need a task killer for Scratch or a reboot
Three hours work gone
Any advice for variable background color changing and uploading?

It would probably be better to make a new thread for this rather than necroposting in a thread from '08.

Mokat, by posting here the thread comes up again.
A new thread with the exact same topic is nothing else than spam.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to topic: MY SOLUTION:
Cause: while modifying Scratch accidentally
unknown commands
are triggered by clicking the wrong menu buttons
Cure:
1. Forget your project or export important sprites if possible.
2. Reinstall Scratch.
3. Try again to modify variable colors.
4. Save and upload a test project, check colors online. (example)
5. Rewrite your project from your last saving point
6. Save, save, save before trying to modify Scratch.
