If it's good, you could make a lot of money.

Not likely. Let's face it, nothing made in Scratch can really rival more professional games unless it's really unique. Either way, one copy gets sold, and with no protection, people can just pirate away.

You could sell a few copies at a garage sale for a few bucks. Or you could do a "game stand".

I suppose so, but it's against Scratch's license. So I wouldn't recommend it.

That was the whole point of this topic. But anyways mods you can close this. Then open it 1 day later then wait till the 16th and close it again. Let's see if that happens.

Re: Scratch=$/£/€?

Great, thanks for turning me away from a half-way decent programming app.  If I write something in PHP, it's mine. I don't care what IDE I used to write it, or what server software is used to run it, it's mine, copyright and all, the same goes for C/C++, or any other half decent, widely used, language.  Any software that works to take away those rights is not worth the time as it won't last. *sigh* I actually had high hopes for this one.

Scratch is an open source language intended for beginners. The point of open source is that it stays open, and if you sell it (or something made with it) it's no longer open. Besides, Scratch is completely impractical for making standalone applications. It's not the point.  hmm

Re: Scratch=$/£/€?

it's not impractical, the problem is there's no real encryption for it. if you turn it into an EXE the user can simply run it, go to temp, appdata, etc. and find the SB file. unprotected. no license.
