Project Upload

When i try to upload my project, it always fails and says that it might be too big, but there's only 106 scripts! are there any ways to make it so i can upload it onto the website, like make more efficient scripts?  sad

Re: Project Upload

How big is the file size? If it's over 10 MB, you will have to compress the sounds and images.

Re: Project Upload

Do you have a lot of images or sounds?

Re: Project Upload

I'm not sure how big it is, and I did compress the sounds and images. I have like 18 sounds, and 5 of the 12 sprites have around 100-200 costumes.

Re: Project Upload

500-1000 costumes plus 18 sounds could probably put you over the max size. Try browsing to the folder you saved it in, (Probably "My Documents\Scratch Projects\") and checking the size. (Right click on the project file and select properties)

Re: Project Upload

That's a lot. I think some of them are repeating (having the same file in different sprites). Is there anyway to reduce the number of files?

Re: Project Upload

Yes, that's probably your problem. Try putting all your sounds in the stage and just have a sprite broadcast when a sound needs to be played. Then the stage can receive the broadcast and play the sound.

Yawn, another boring text signature. I should really make something better.

No problem.  smile  Usually if a project has hundreds of scripts, most of them are rather small.

Try to limit use of them if you can; yes. Use them if you have to, but try to see if there is a more effective and efficient way.
