I have some saved sprites in the "Costumes" folder that I really want to delete, but Scratch won't let me delete them.
When I go to Program Files (x86)/Scratch/Media/Costumes, the sprites I saved don't show up, only the default sprites appear.
Is there any way to get rid of the sprites?

Yes. I saved them in the Costumes folder.

I don't use windows very much, but I think what I know will help. Click the 'organize' menu at the top of the folder window (if it's not there press alt) and click 'file and folder options' (I'm not sure if that's what it's called because I'm doing this off the top of my head) and click the 'view' tab on the top of the window that popped up. In that, there should be a list. Scroll down the list and click the button next to 'show hidden files and folders', then click Okay. If the sprites where hidden, then that would have shown them.

The sprites still didn't show up.
It's really weird because if I click "Choose new sprite from file" in Scratch, the sprites are there in the Costumes folder.

Try saving a sprite to, say, your desktop. If it doesn't appear, then there is something weird that Scratch does, and if it does, then there's something weird with the costumes folder.

I saved a sprite to My Pictures and it appeared.

(This only works on Windows Vista and 7)
Goto the folder that you saved the sprites in
Click the "Compatibility files" button
