"loving" your own project

i just noticed that you can hit the love it button on your own projects. first i thought; awsome! i can make my projects have at least 1 love it on them! but then i realized that it could be a bug! i steped on it emideatley. (i'm not funny am i?) is this what it is suppost to be or is this wrong?

Re: "loving" your own project

It's supposed to be that way. I generally avoid loving my own projects, though - I don't find it to be very ethical. It's not a bug, though.

Re: "loving" your own project

I'm the latest Love-It on my own project now! W00t!
Why would it be unethical? If you love a game, you should Love-It, even if it is your own.

Re: "loving" your own project

Why does it seem not right? It's not some sort of rating system, it's just liking the project.

Re: "loving" your own project

Yeah, but Love-it's are mostly how projects are rated. Granted, one love-it isn't really going to make a difference, but it's not ethical or honest.

What do you mean it's how most projects are rated? It's not a rating system. It's just a count of how many people like your project. What's unethical and dishonest about liking something you put your hard work into?

Of course, but what's this third person approval you're talking about?

I think if it's a good project and if it's good than I will press the love-it button for my project's.

You said that already but it's not third or even second person approval if it's you doing the approving...

You would upload a project even if you didn't think it was very good?  yikes

How is it not ethical or honest if you love what you've done?  Clearly, your being honest that you think you did a good job, it's one project?  If you went loving all your projects because you're arrogant, then I agree, but otherwise, why can't you be happy for yourself?

Re: "loving" your own project

It's cheating because it's a rating system. This appears to be the mindset that a lot of Scratchers have, but it most certainly isn't a rating system.

Re: "loving" your own project

May I point out that while Love-it's aren't a technical rating system, they are still used to gauge how much the community likes your project? My point is, as little as a single love-it does, they are still somewhat used to rate a project. Say two projects both have 200 views, and one of them has 60 love-its; the other has 4. It's fair to say that the first has been rated higher by the community.
