Combine panther and BYOB

Maybe a huge update to scratch could be that panther and BYOB where combined with it. Think of the possibilities!

Maybe we should wait until they get a way to put projects online first, though.

Just a thought, but I think everyone would love it!

Re: Combine panther and BYOB

I think some features would confuse people to much.
I think a few blocks from them need to be put in scratch though, like the <I received [_]> Block.

Re: Combine panther and BYOB

The <I received [ ]?> block already has code that you can use offline.

Re: Combine panther and BYOB

Lots of the features in BYOB/Panther are far too advanced for the targeted audience of Scratch, don't you think? It would also take up a lot of the Scratch Team's time.

Re: Combine panther and BYOB

Yeah, they can't just take the source code of both mods and smash them together; there would be a lot of recoding involved. And like coolstuff said, a lot of people that use Scratch might find some of the features (especially the ones in BYOB like calling scripts) too confusing.  hmm

This would be extremely hard. nXIII changed some key parts of Panther so that it's source is not easily compatible with other Scratch modifications. I know how to change some of it, but I don't know what else he did to change the way the code works.

Panther would be the hardest. They added two new sections I have no idea what they do, and edited blocks to the point where they're no use to me.
