Make a freewebs site, and for 20.00 a month, you can have a .com address,
even though I prefer co.nr

Yes. use Freewebs. If you want to use HTML, when you make your profile and fill out your information, in the ocrner next to choose template it says Advanced (HTML) Mode. Use that. And freedominas.co.nr is free to for a domain

Not the Advanced Mode. If you use Advanced Mode, all Freewebs does is host it

Or convince them to get you a Mac and have the salesperson throw in iWEb or whatever and not tell them what it is

You don't need a lot of money to have a website. There are many different companies that offer services for you to host your website. Some of them have been mentioned already but if you want more you can go for something like Dreamhost. Also, Google offers Google Pages which allows you to host a website. It all depends on what you want to do. Here is a list of places where you can see comparisons of different web hosting plans:

Thanks hopefully it will help. Just my main question is is if you guys use like a computer to host scratch or a server.

A server is a computer, it's just a computer with more power (faster hard drives and faster CPU) but it's just a computer. So yeah, we use a server, three servers actually.

jeez scratch is big then. What one for the site? One for the scratch program itself? And one for extra stuff? Thats one i think anyway.
