Compiler for Panther?

Hey guys I was wondering if there was a stable compiler for panther which will turn the .pt to .exe. Is this possible? Thanks

Re: Compiler for Panther?

I don't think so. In order to do that, the compiler would have to translate Squeak into .exe. For the compiler to work, the project couldn't use any custom blocks.

i dont see your problem.
i have modded scratch2exe ages ago to fit my custom blocks, now there's a compiler for Bingo 1.0.0 and a (working) compiler for 1.2.0 which you can download here

Did you have to re-compile it? Because I've changed it to work with the image, but I'm trying to change the text, and its not working for me.

oh, right. no i didn't decompile it yet.
never thought of that to be honest.
but in fact i could decompile it into C++ and edit it...
good point.
i'll try it tomorrow  smile

Decompiling? No way! I just went into the source files and played around, but when I try to compile it, it says things are missing, idk what. Jens said that the compiler should already have the thing it wants. So... I'm totaly confused.

It's NSIS. google it (Or Bing.) It's quite simple if you just read it over a few times.

Re: Compiler for Panther?

Simple: download Scratch2exe go into the folder 'kit' and replace 'runtime.image' with '[name of panther image]' and rename the panther image to runtime.image
That worked for me with my mod of scratch. Whats the point of panther, why not just mod scratch on it's own?

Re: Compiler for Panther?

@daffy22:
me and mp56 have already done that ages ago, but we're trying to change the EXE's code itself to fit our mod's names etc. alothugh it seems jens left quite a lot of errors in the source  tongue

oh and, if you don't understand the usefulness of modding scratch to make it your own public version, all the better.  smile

Panther is already a mod, saves you a bit of time.

Re: Compiler for Panther?

Actully, the compiller just zips all the initail files of scratch and the project into an exe file. Somewhere in the exe will tell scratch to run scratch.image and the project in fullscreen.

Re: Compiler for Panther?

i know that. in fact, if you go into appData -> temp, you'll find that SB project if the program's running (along with the scratch image)

Yes, but its the only way for it to be an .exe file.

LS97 didn't make the compiler, we're just both trying to mod it. Jens made the compiler. Just kinda confusing since theres something in it that doesn't seem to exist anywhere on the internet.

it's the NSIS dialogs nsh header file to be precise. you can only find dialogs.dll on the internet and it's not the right thing.

in fact, it woul be great if Jens could lend us the dialogs.nsh on mediafire  tongue

So he made it him self maybe? Though I recall him saying that the program should have it already...
