Just curious, but I saw a new Moderator named Lutz, who had 4 posts. Is he/she part of the scratch team? I am a bit confused, since most moderators seem to have over 500 posts.

Never mind. Lutz explained it!

I believe I hadn't made any announcement about it but as JSO said, he's also joining our group of moderators. We hope they help us set a great model of how to be an active member of the community by helping others, giving advice, being nice and positive towards others. Thanks everyone, we know you're busy and we really appreciate your time.

Lutz is someone expert on the Sensor Boards who is going to be monitoring and helping people with questions related to PicoBoard and Scratch Board on that new forum. Lutz will be involved only with that part of the forums.

Yeah. She forgot to add that little detail the first time. Me and Cyclone103 (and maybe others were like "What?!?! Lutz only has 4 posts!". But then they clarified it

It doesn't matter if you're a moderator to be on Scratch a lot. I'm not a moderator, and I'm usually on Scratch until 1:30 AM lookin' at the forums. See? Not a mod, but spending too much time on the forums. You can do the same (maybe not until 1:30 Am though)

I'm pretty good at moderating but theres no chance of me being a mod, congrats mods!

The Scratch Team has selected Jens and kevin_karplus as the first Scratch Forum Moderators.
They were selected not not only because they are very talented Scratch programmers but because they are often helping and giving advice to others. They will be helping us in monitoring the forum posts, move post threads to their appropriate forum, make posts sticky and delete inappropriate content.
Please join us in congratulate and thank them for all the time and effort they have put into Scratch.
As we move forward we will try to include other members of the community in other activities as we see necessary. In selecting these members, age, gender and location are not important. What is important is the level of maturity, respect and mentoring role that people have played in the community.
Thanks kevin_karplus!
Thanks Jens!
Thanks everyone in the Scratch Community... and Scratch On!
For those of you interested in becoming forum moderators, this original post by Andres explains what the Scratch Team looks for when they pick moderators. Also remember that they select new moderators only when they see a need for new moderators and it might be a while before they need new ones. The best path for possibly becoming a moderator is to continue to be active, helpful, and courteous in all your Scratch activities. Thanks for all your help in making Scratch a fun and safe place to learn!

Moderator job has a lot of responsibilities and you need to know with what kind of forum you are dealing with. You have to be very active on the forum and be nice and appreciated by all members. Everyday you need to add new topics and reply quick so that the total posts become high Your work has to be good and then you will become a good moderator
