i downloaded jen's lists and files thing, but when I try to open the complier, it says: pick a scratch progect, then pick an icon, but when I pick the icon, it says Complier error code 1. what's that mean?

Yes, this sometimes happens, especially when you have path names with special characters in them (like umlaute or apostrophes). I try to come up with a fix in the next version. In the meantime you might as well press cancel on the select icon dialog to make it use the standard icon.
