I think the people who don't like rap period, have only heard a few songs they didn't like and became automatically biased against the entire genre. You guys probably heard someone like Young Jeezy (he raps like a drunk idiot), Gucci Mane, Wacka Flacka, or Yo Gotti. Those guys, and anyone who raps like them, flat out suck, and probably made you dislike the genre entirely.
I have heard Eminem, B.o.B., and several others who I can't name off of the top of my head. I've never heard of the names you mentioned. However, my dislike of rap is based in that I don't find it a meritable vocal technique and that I generally prefer heavier music.

Heavier music? Like a screaming death metal song?

No. I mean artists such as Iron Maiden and Dream Theater. I dislike death metal, I prefer songs with heavier instrumentation but relatively clean vocals. Iron Maiden has a smooth, almost operatic voice, and as such are a perfect example of what I mean.

I like all varieties of music, which I guess means I'm undecisive.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
You two must not listen to any rap then. Don't knock it before you try it.
I've listened to a lot. A little bit of me died.

Some rap songs are able to appeal to both rap & rock fans like:
Sing For The Moment by Eminem It contains a sample of Aerosmith's Dream On for the chorus, as well as a guitar solo by Joe Perry of the same band.
Halls Of Illusions by Insane Clown Posse Although, I hate ICP (with a few exceptions), I love this song. It has lyrics that oppose domestic violence and child abuse, as well as a guitar part by Slash.
All songs by Rage Against The Machine This leans more to rock than the other two. Great beats, political/angry lyrics, and rapping. One of my favorite bands.
Clint Eastwood/Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz Great alternative rock, with rapping in most verses. Best band on Earth, whether rap or alternative.
I would have put Let It Rock, but Lil Wayne ruined
that one.
Check out the songs listed! If a rap and rock fan are next to each other, arguing about what to listen to,
they can put on the songs listed. They might both
enjoy it (unless one or more of them is one of those stupid people hate something because it has swearing).
WARNING: Sing For The Moment and Halls Of Illusions
contain a lot of cussing, be prepared for a big mouth! A lot of Rage Against The Machine's music contains
mostly a little swearing, but watch out for Killing In
The Name (one of the best songs but 17 f bombs). Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc. each swear 3 times, but okay for 10+ (it is also worth of note that
Feel Good Inc contains references to s*x).
Check those out!
Wow, that post took me 40 minutes to post this! How could someone read such a long post?!

I second that notion!!!!! I like rock.

I also dislike Cascada. But can we keep on topic here? There's another thread for sharing what music you hate or like, made by Sanddude as well. In fact, all of the music related threads are made by him.
