Does anyone else get really ticked off about those little amulets mods put at the of posts.

When it doesn't fit what they are saying, then yes.

If they say something like "have a nice day  smile " then its fine. But if they say something like "If you guys dont keep on topic I will close it.  smile " then yes that annoys me.

It's used either when it is something happy, like "Scratch On  smile ", or when they want to keep the positive attitude and not make people mad, like "Topic closed due to spam  smile ". I personally would prefer mods not to do that, because it is kind of them pretending to be happy.
