Not a technical suggestion, but an ethical one . . .

As a banned and frequently rumored about user, I have felt the pressure to stop using scratch entirely from several sources. I even recently got an email saying I had to delete scratch off my computer, from the "scratch team" (I don't think this was actually the scratch team, but just to make sure . . .). I think that scratch should probably be what it was meant to be - an open source program that anybody can use or configure, not one which pressures its users to stop using it entirely because of events that passed, and allegations. So I'm permanently barred from the scratch community. Yay yay, whoopity doo, zippity doo da, zippity yay. That's fine. Block this account too, if you will. But I suggest that scratch at least allows people to post their projects on unofficial sites, and that it doesn't pressure "bad" users  to quit entirely.

You can post Scratch Projects on other unofficial sites, if it's your intellectual property. Newgrounds doesn't own or isn't affiliated with Adobe, yet it's the most popular portal for flash content on the web.

Yeah. But I've frequently been pressured to remove scratch from my computer.

The Scratch Team wouldn't say that, it's probably some poser trolling you.

Yep, even if the scratch team absolutely hated you (Which I am sure they do not) they would not care about you having a program on your computer, it does not harm them.

Re: Not a technical suggestion, but an ethical one . . .

For FloatingMagicTree:
Well, this has happened multiple times. And I need to verify that it isn't a scratch team representative or mod.
Would a mod say this?
"Please don't overexpress your opinion. Making a post about something most people disagree with is likely to cause flaming. Here at scratch, keep your peculiar opinion to yourself".
That was my warning for the original post about Communism and Socialism. So, would your idea of a mod call somebody's ideas "peculiar" and not to express them?
For colorfusion:
I don't think it was them. I'm just making sure.

That seems plausible - if something's likely to cause flaming, the Scratch Team and moderators don't want it to happen.

I think you're saying that we're allowed to post our projects elsewhere, but what I don't know is how we can post our projects elswhere. Is there another site or something?

Re: Not a technical suggestion, but an ethical one . . .

by using a special code supplied in a i topic  you can upload a scratch project without saving it on the scratch server.  Plus-Getting rid of your scratch program on yuor compute-noone would do that

I take it that means you've gotten some emails from Amos too.

If this was someone who had gotten emails from the Scratch Team before, they would probably put that in to make it look more official.

"Please remove Scratch, and any signs of visiting the Scratch website from your computer. Also, never visit it again or download the Scratch program again.

Scratch On!"

That would be a strangely funny e-mail...

So no 'Amos, Scratch Team' or something like that at the end?

Re: Not a technical suggestion, but an ethical one . . .

Although the Scratch team can bar you from the Scratch website for being too disruptive (Ban you), they can't tell you not to use the Scratch program. It sounds like that was someone not associated with the Scratch team.

True, but I'm not sure they'd go to those lengths. Besides, it's illegal to impersonate someone and threaten people under that impersonation.
