The Guitarist's Thread.

Talk about guitars, what guitars you like, what you're learning, rock music, and anything else of the like.

As for me, i'm into the Grunge/Hair Metal scene of the late 80s/early 90s. I have a Sunburst Fender Squier Stratocaster.

Re: The Guitarist's Thread.

I have:
Epiphone SG-400 (White)
Fender Telecaster Thinline (Black)
Some Guild semi-acoustic (w/ burst)
Ibanez acoustic bass

I want:
Fender Jazzmaster (Red or pink, white pickguard)

I've been playing for about 4 years and I have a scattered musical taste that covers Ska, Alternative, Indie and Classic Rock, Alternative, Things with synths, And generally anything that people will dance to. Oh, and some sit-down music like Tom Waits or like the Radio music in HL2. But the dancy stuff is what I play.

Oh, and while Squier is a part of Fender, and they look extremely similar, Squier guitars are not Fender guitars.

Re: The Guitarist's Thread.

Oh and how could I forget Chet Atkins. That guy is a genius. If you ever want to take a break from your grunge, I'd suggest looking at his cover of Mr.Sandman on Youtube. It's just amazing.

and ragtime is cool too.

Re: The Guitarist's Thread.

All I have now is a Fender Strat copy with a cheap amp xP I'd also like to learn how to play bass guitar, still not sure whether I should get that or a better amp for my b-day which is coming soon. My music teacher wants to get an acoustic bass for the class though, so maybe I could volunteer to play it and focus in learning the guitar.  smile

I'm mostly into thrash and heavy metal, I mostly listen to Judas Priest, Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth though I also like hard rock and some latin rock.

As of now I'm not into a band but I'm composing and playing some riffs for a friend who wants to audition for something.  big_smile

I dunno about joe but I would, seeing as a bass is like a guitar except without two strings and an octave lower and sexy :I

im getting a jazzmaster, at the muinite just learning guitar and have a handmade electric guitar: fender neck, carved three quarter size body (red) and custom built electrics. crosga set the whole thing up as a special issue (crosga arent running anymore but they made epic guitars :]).

Honestly. I am pretty cool.  tongue

Currently I'm working on Carery On Wayward Son, Let Me Hear You Scream, Patience, and Hells Bells.

I'm also doing some new songs with the band.

Re: The Guitarist's Thread.

I play both heavy metal stuff and indie stuff, XD  i'm kind of on both ends of the spectrum.  It's because I like to play metal, but i can't sing it, so i go for a lighter sound.  this is why i end up liking bands like My chemical romance as well as bands like the hush sound.

When I get my bass I'll sell my guitar and my amp so I can buy a Les Paul copy and just connect it to the bass amp  tongue

Does anyone here have an Ultimate-Guitar account? If you do add me: http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/technoguyx/ Sadly, I was just banned from the forums 'cause I told people to use adblockers (and ads are UG's main way to earn money I think). My ban will end in 30 days. >.<

Re: The Guitarist's Thread.

Fender Squier.

I learn mostly Gorillaz and Green Day (my two favorite bands). It's very easy to play, and it rocks too!

I am currently listening to awful Ke$ha.

I play guitar.

But I only like guitar if it is:
-Light
-Pop, Light Rock or Folk

NO Emo, Heavy Metal or Hard Rock!

Re: The Guitarist's Thread.

You see, at first I didn't want to post tabs of my songs because I didn't want people stealing them, but I don't like them that much anymore... Do you guys think I should upload all the original Guitar Pro files and link to them here and perhaps in a project?  smile

Yeah, Non-Epiphone Gibsons are expensive as hell. D:
