Unknown File Type?

I tried downloading my own project, and it said that the file was unknown and I couldn't open it. What happened?

Re: Unknown File Type?

Looks like this belongs better in the Troubleshooting forum. I'll move it for you.

Do any other projects work? Can you save the file to somewhere like your desktop, and then open it with Scratch, instead of just opening it right away?

Re: Unknown File Type?

Try to open the file again, click "Select a program from a list of installed programs", click OK, and if Scratch isn't in the list of programs, then browse for the EXE location (all this is if you're on Windows).

Or reinstall Scratch.

Yawn.

Can you open it at all? Do you have the original project, still? Can you try saving the uploaded one to your hard drive and then opening it?

Re: Unknown File Type?

It's happening with another projectg! http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/JeanTheFox/1222828

I wonder what's in common with all these projects that's making them unknown file types?

Re: Unknown File Type?

This happened to me too. I tried opening JeanTheFox's Lobby Music for Ace project but it couldn't be recognized.
