I suggest you look at a paint project. You can get ideas from the coding. Just download it

Use the <pen down> to put the pen down, <pen up> to put the pen up so it doesn't draw, and then move the sprite and it drags the pen. Or use the script <stamp> to stamp the sprite's costume on the screen. To clear pen or stamps, use the <clear> script.
