Any ideas on how to use Lego WeDo and Scratch for presentation on CO2?

I am a volunteer with 4-H and am doing a one day presentation on the effects of CO2 in the environment. Our 4-H group is focusing on robotics. I have looked into using Lego Mindstorms coupled with sensors (like CO2 sensor) to measure Co2 level and act on the results. This idea however is becoming increasingly expensive.

Another idea is to use Lego WeDo but I am not familiar with input sensors other than tile and motion. If WeDo could accept a voltage input, then I can perhaps derive a voltage based on the CO2 level at a sensor, thus marking the WeDo robot do something.

Any thought or ideas on this?

There's only 2 wedo sensors, tilt and distance.

The tilt sensor is a simple 4-way switch - not much use for an analogue reading.

The distance sensor might be more use to you - check the voltages first, but I reckon you'd be able to make it work
