Sprites don't exist

Sometimes, when I draw a sprite, then it doesn't show up in the sprite pane. I can still give it scripts, costumes, and sounds by selecting it by double-clicking on it... but I still seem worried. Most of the time, I just delete the sprite, but once, I had spent AGES on a non-existant sprite. Any help with this? Is this a bug? Here's how it happened:

I right-click and delete a sprite.
I quickly click on the paint new sprite button, before the other sprite disappears from the pane.
I paint a sprite.
It doesn't exist.

Re: Sprites don't exist

I made a project with the glitch here. I might know why this happens: sprites seem to get deleted from the sprite pane before it gets removed off the main project screen, and when you try to delete it, it disappears from the sprite pane and you quickly press paint new sprite before it gets removed off the project sreen, scratch (through a bug) somehow makes you start editing the partially-removed sprite and doesn't put the image in the sprite pane when you're done. If you want to make the sprite exist, make a new existing one and copy all costumes, scripts and sounds in the partially-removed one to the fully existing one. Then just delete the weird one.

It's a good trick for making "hidden" sprites so no one knows it's there.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Oh, okay. Thanks very much!
