Private messaging?

I am making a scratch game that will involve accounts, (http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/colorfusion/1214981)
I will need to tell users their account name and password when they ask for one, but I need to do that without others seeing.
So I was wondering, is there any way to do this?

If I made a comment on their game then deleted it quickly would they still get the message and be able to see what I said?

Re: Private messaging?

When you delete a comment, there's no way to see it - plus you can't delete your own comments on other people's projects.

I think the Scratch would like to discourage this kind of use.

Discourage private messaging?
I don't see what is so bad about it.

If you mean the project, by accounts I mean on the project, not real scratch accounts.

Re: Private messaging?

I got that. I just meant that they'd like to discourage private messaging - there's a whole topic about it:

No.

Because keeping things open and public  allow for things to be transparent. Inappropriate behavior is easily spotted and the benefits of having private communication do not outweigh its disadvantages.

There are other places on the web that do a better job at private communication.

So that's why there shouldn't be private messaging. Anyways, you'd have to wait for them to read the message before deleting it, otherwise they won't be able to read it. But I really think that using comments as private messaging is strongly discouraged by the Team.

Re: Private messaging?

Hmm... Make a chat that can use privat messaging, get on it together, and exchange the message. Easy. I use Xat for a lot of stuff. Just don't go on suspicious chats, bad stuff can be happening there... - shudder at bad memory -

Re: Private messaging?

You could try telling that person that you would like to host a Mesh session with them. If you want to, I suggest to go with BYOB because you don't have to edit the code; it is already in the 'share' menu.

Or you could always email them!  wink

Re: Private messaging?

Mesh would take too long just to give a P word.
And since there is no private messaging one of us would have to give out our IP in public.

I still don't see what is wrong with private messaging though, people can just click report if its something bad, and they could have a strict filter.
If anything its safer than normally since if its something bad only one person sees it.
