I think as an addition to the movement issue That the scratch box (move_ steps) should not make you have to press the same button and it not easily glide off like when you make it and you can drag things.[blocks]<move( 20)steps>[/blocks]

Oh yeah, I think I have an idea.
We make it like flash.
No, that won't be too complicated, I just mean that we have the stage and a space offscreen (but still there) like this (... is offscreen but still in the editing screen and - is stage)

I agree. I also think that the online player shouldn't resize sprites bigger that the screen. Just look at my latest game (link). It has sprites bigger than the screen and the java player made them small. Now you have to download it.

Things should go off screen! They should add that in scratch 2.0. I hope they do because it is a little odd, not being able to have stuff go off screen...

I've heard that sprites have to have 18 pixels showing. So, if you add an 18 pixel transparent border in an external paint editor, they will go off screen. Also, when you are in presentation mode and you have "draggable on website" on, you can drag things offstage.
I still support though.

You know, it might actually be 8 pixels... I'm not entirely sure, but that's what I've heard. The solution you detailed above could be modified to fit however many pixels you need

Says who?
The whole background of a sprite would already be transparent, that's what the checkerboard is
