Using The Scratch Coding Interface

I had an idea and didn't know what to do with it, do I'll post it here.

My idea is using the Scratch UI, but for different languages, like C or Java. I realize that this might be hard because of how different these programs are from Squeak, but if it was possible, it would allow much easier learning of more complex programs.

Creepers are exceptionally volatile.

Re: Using The Scratch Coding Interface

Great idea! Something like this is already in the works for HTML (here's a link) - but I think the interface could be extended to any number of programming languages. It's a great idea!

Re: Using The Scratch Coding Interface

This definitely has potential. Things like this have already been implemented/are planned. For example, billyedward is working on a ScratcHTML project that allows you to write in HTML with Scratch's interface. Microsoft also makes Visual Basic and Visual C++. Google has its App Inventor, which lets you create apps for Android with a graphical interface, in beta
