Lag Time

You know Scratch runs slow when, no matter what page I go to, I have my browsers race. Usually because one was just too slow. Example: I wanna play a game. I open a browser, try, it lags too much, so I open my other browser and see which one gets to the game first. Now it's also happening with the forums  sad

I use Firefox 3 Beta 5 and SeaMonkey

Re: Lag Time

Does it happen with all projects or just large sized ones? Sometimes if you have too many files/programs open at once everything runs slower. Could it also be a problem with your computer? A virus possibly?

No virus cause 1. It's a Mac. They don't get viruses. And 2. It only happens with EVERY page in Scratch, no matter what

So only at Scratch but not any other websites? That is weird. Has it always happened or when did it start being slow?

Hmmm.... Recently. Started recently. Makes me ticked off too. Though it possibly can be my computer...

I'm not too sure because I don't have one, but I think they have a built-in virus protector so they are said to not be able to get viruses. Occasionally they do get viruses. Compared to a PC the chances of getting a virus are very very slim.

Maybe, but no. Viruses are programmed for windows. I was looking on how to make a fake one, only for windows. Couldn't do it with Mac

Re: Lag Time

I thinkkits the built in protector and the fact no one makes them for it...yet. Soon people will make viruses for the mac.

Re: Lag Time

It is very strange that you're having issues with the website. It is possible that you visit it at its highest load. What kind of connection do you have? DSL, dialup, cable? Have you tried the Scratch website on other computers either on the same place where your Mac is or on another network (like in school or a friend's house)? It would be great to narrow down the problem.

I use DSL I think. And I sometiems use it on my mom's computer, but heres is so slow to begin with, you can't really say it's the Scratch site. And when I use it at school, it is the same thing (but again, we have these ancient computers. All I know is the are super slow). I can try my dads laptop tonight if he has it.
