You could at first have a server "Online time" where you are online, and then an offline mode with all AI.

Then you'd have more time to solve the problem.

hello, ied like to help you with this project, ive always wanted to help with a mmo, can some one give me a link to panther? and is there ennything else ill need (sorry for sounding haysty or something.) (and i can probely host the game, and have my comp on 24/7)

Alright.
I've spoken with JJ about the game, and he says we may need to switch it up a bit. No lobby, and the whole thing is connected. I tried to explain to him that this idea is way more difficult, but he seems to have set his mind on it. We are currently talking it over on scratchchat, but he stopped responding a few minutes ago.

keeping it all online shouldn't make it difficult!

well we don't need a lobby, we just need it to automatically connect users to the server! 

btw for how many characters we should allow to play at a time in the world, i'd say that depends on how big the world is.  i'd say 12-16 would probably suffice for now, if demand gets higher then we will have to open up a new server for more people i guess.

i still think that the sprites look lame, how about every ten levels you "class change" and become something cooler?

here's a way of doing it

there are 9 skills in the game, one for each character, these would all major in one, and as you progressed that skill would be higher than the rest, of course, with training, other skills could reach that level, but your highest skill would be the character you were

for example

the rabbit would have the SPEED skill
the ghost would have the MAGIC skill
the turtle would have the DEFENSE skill
the human would have the MINING skill (this would include smithing, all of that stuff)
the dog would have the GENERAL skill (basically balanced skills for those who want a balanced character)
the cat would have the CONSTITUTION skill (that means health, cuz of the nine lives, get it  wink
the walrus would have the strength skill (cuz of it's pointy teeth of death)
the duck would have the FISHING skill
the chicken would have the COOKING skill (as a most-cooked animal itself XD)

then later on you would have

RABBIT  -> THIEF
GHOST -> MAGE
TURTLE -> KNIGHT
HUMAN -> BLACKSMITH
DOG -> WARRIOR
CAT -> PALADIN
WALRUS -> SWORDSMAN
DUCK -> FISHERMAN
CHICKEN -> COOK


that's one way to do it

another just as effective way would be

all animals are the same, you can level up whatever skills you want, it would go like this

ANIMAL -> WARRIOR (medieval) -> SOLDIER (modern day) -> SUPER SOLDIER (futuristic)

and lastly, my personal favorite

GET RID OF THE ANIMALS AND SIMPLY MAKE IT SO THAT YOU PICK A TIME PERDIOD, MEDIEVAL IS PRETTY POPULAR SO LET'S GO WITH THAT!

seriously, if i can't have three then two is okay, but i wish that we could just stick with something less kiddie.

I BET THAT I COULD CONVINCE YOU THAT IT WOULD BE COOL, give me the chance to make a demo with medieval style characters instead of these ones and i promise you won't regret it!
