Sometimes you have this awesome sound that works in many programs, but when you import it inside of scratch it usually messes it up. It could be great for several songs that are very small or one song inside or a project, OR imported sound effects, but having the option to let scratch compress it or import it without being compressed.

Does Scratch compress audio files when they're imported? I didn't know that - it's a great idea! Support!
Of course, it might be useful to have the compression with larger files - but that's what the option is for

Happens to me too
Caramelldansen has 6 minutes of nothing when imported into Scratch. It also fattens up the file with bad quality.

You can adjust the sound quality under the Edit menu, can't you? Or is it bad even then? (I don't use sounds much)
When you import a sound scratch compresses It a little. That menu just compresses it more.

I see. Makes sense then. So the highest quality setting on that menu is the default?
