Here is how to make 5 new materials:

SNOW:
Fan+Ice

STEAM:
Lava+Water (The white stuff)

RUST:
Water+Steel

WOOD:
Seed+Powder

SALT WATER:
Salt+Water

Hopefully the will add something better in future, like sponge, fish, balloon or magnet.

Here is some better ideas than the ones in the first post:
Fish (Pixel) Like bird or ant but dies out of water
Sponge (Draw) Absorbs water
Rubber (Draw) Rubber
Balloon (Pixel) Floats up, can be popped
Clay (Draw) Clay
Magnet (Draw) Attracts metallic things
Plastic (Draw) Plastic
Wood (Draw) An easier way to get wood
Steam (Pixel) An easier way to get steam
Smoke (Pixel) Toxic gas that floats up
Snow (Pixel) An easier way to get snow
Helium (Pixel) Floats upwards
Paint (Pixel) A liquid, stick, and dies things
Electron (Pixel) An electron
Neutron (Pixel) A neutron
Proton (Pixel) A proton
Animal (Figure) Like player but as an animal
Sulfur (Pixel) Similar to salt
Brick (Draw) Like rock but weaker
Crystal (Draw) Like metal but tougher
Triangle (Object) Like circle or square
Sap (Pixel) Is sticky
Cloth (Draw) Can be burned, is blown around easier
Paper (Draw) Can be burned, is blown around easier
Coal (Pixel) Like stone but can be set on fire

Wax (Draw) Is sticky, can be burned like a candle
