You Should Be Able To Close Topics You Created
Title explains it all. If you post a topic and you want in closed, you shouldn't have to ask a mod to close it-you should be able to do it yourself. Thx!

I don't support - it could lead to some badly resolved conflicts where two users fight, one closes the thread in mid-discussion, and the temperament continues.

Also I don't think the forum can support this kind of thing. It's either everyone has the ability to close any topic or nobody does (not including moderators and Scratch Team of course)

You can simply report your topic asking a moderator to close it - very easy and the moderators don't mind. In my opinion, it seems a bit silly to follow this suggestion when you can just do as was said.

Well, it would just be a bit easier this way.
I think the effort that it would take on the Scratch team's part to implement this wouldn't be worth any advantages this might offer. I'd rather have them being able to focus on more important things - like Scratch 2.0

Very well said! On top of that, it would require some pretty heavy-duty changes to the forum coding. So I don't think it's going to happen.

Yes. I'm fine with that and I don't think we need to go all the way as to be able to close topics ourselves.

If I wasn't looking at this topic, I probably wouldn't have noticed you wanted it closed - you can get it closed faster if you use the "report" button and ask for us to close it. It's just a whole lot easier for us to notice that way. Thanks!
