How do you upload a remix?

When you upload remixes, how do you get the "Based on Whoever's project" or "Based on thisperson's version of thatguy's project" text? I have a remix of my own project that I want to upload.

Re: How do you upload a remix?

Just upload it, the site will detect if it is a remix automatically.

It knows the "history" of the project... For example, shift-click the "file" menu and write a project summary... It'll tell you exactly who saved it, when, and under which file name. Each file has a little bit of data like that, and the site knows who uploaded it and when.

Just upload it like any other project.  smile

The site will detect if it's a remix.

Re: How do you upload a remix?

Did you download the original project, edit it, save it, and then upload it? You have to do that for it to detect that it's a remix.

Re: How do you upload a remix?

For it to be a remix, you have to have downloaded the project from the Scratch Website and edited it from there. It sounds like you may have just revised the project by opening it offline and fixing it.

You have to save it? That shouldn't be necessary... I remember countless times where I'd not saved the project yet it mentioned it was a remix.

Re: How do you upload a remix?

OK, everything is fixed now. (link to project) There's the smoother version of my first uploaded project. I had to reupload several times to fix corruption that happened during uploading (like my Pac-Fruit appearing at random places). Now I know how to upload!

You're right coolstuff, saving isn't required. It auto-saves a temporary copy and uploads it to the Scratch server. Then, it deletes the temporary files used in uploading.
