Hey all!
I'd just like to say that at this point, I will certainly be making a Scape 2 - I'm just not entirely sure *when*. I won't be a particularly active Scratcher over the next few weeks so don't expect it until later in August at least, if not September (at which point school will take over my life).
Anyhow, this topic will serve as a progress log and discussion for Scape 2 - if there are any features you feel are particularly vital to this game, post them here and I'll consider. Any suggestions? Questions? Comments? Concerns? This topic is the place.
At the moment, I've barely begun making the menu graphics, so I'm not very far along - but I'll post updates as I finish things up Enjoy!
For now, here's how things will go down in the game:
- The same basis as the original Scape
- Level selection, though levels must be unlocked.
- You do not have to complete a level in the required number of turns to unlock the next level - the required number of turns is merely a guideline that people going for "ultimate completion" may wish to aim for. This makes the game a lot easier, but still keeps the challenge for those who want it.
- Level creator will be in the game - but for now, you'll only be able to save one level at a time, though that may change for the final version.
- Detailed tutorial.
- ~20 levels, most of which will be easier than the hardest levels of Scape 1, but harder than the easy levels.
- Time attack mode! It doesn't matter the turns, just get it done in as fast as you can Thanks to helltank for this idea
Remember, if you have anything to say, post it here!

Seeing the success of the previous version of Scape, this sounds like it will be a hit!

Thanks I'm hoping so, myself; otherwise I wouldn't really be putting so much effort into the thought process.

How's Time Attack going along? I'm hoping for that.

Well, if you're making the creator and open board seperate, it would be nice to have a 1x1 square to change things. Other than that, this sounds epic!

That sounds like a good idea I'll add that to the to-do list.

But then you could make impossible puzzles. Using only the tools you get removes the problem.

True, but I'm talking about just the regular editor, not the level creator.

Ah, you mean like level "abs" in Scape 1?

So, I finally started working on this project
So far all I've done is redesigned some of the interface - expect subtle changes. Loyalty to the original is critical in a game like this. Things look great thus far
I'm using the old game as a base for this one, so it really will be quite similar. However, I'll be revamping almost all of it

Alright, so what I basically have now is a working replica of the first game which starts on a mouse click (I haven't been working on it very much ) - and I am working on the menus right now.

Offtopic: You advertise having only ten followers? And they were right, it is creepy when mods use smileys for something like that.
Ontopic: Looks cool, the level creator sounds awesome, and I like the level selector addition.

I only got to level 13 on the first one, then I tried to cheat to get to level 14, and when that didn't work, I gave up

Ack! I may have accidentally deleted the file I'll look some more when I can, but I can't find it!
o.o
That would be awful. I hope it's just hiding.

I hope so too. I'm at my dad's right now, and the file is on my mom's computer, so I won't be able to check, but I have a feeling I may have named it something really obscure and forgotten.
