SOSU2010: Clearing Things UP!

Regarding Japan's "late" completion:

They were not late, Team Japan merged with Korea (completing the team) long before midnight on the 22nd.

Regarding violation of the ToU:

That is not only a penalty, but you shall be disqualified for such, and I would prefer people the cannot follow SCRATCH's rules not participate in my contest. This is the answer to the case of Team Muldova and a member of Team America.

...any other questions?  smile

Thank you. Also, as I said, before I got the time to edit the list, I got kicked off the computer by my mum.

What does the Scratch Team have to do with the Olympics? They don't have time to deal with this drama. Also about the first post:

You wrote the case of one member of team America, and the Moldovian Aurochs? Why are you targetting the whole team? It was just one member that broke the terms of use. If it's the reason you gave, that we were disrespecting you, and oh so powerful moderator, that is incorrect. We were opposing you for disqualifying our whole team on account of one of it's members. You can't just kick us out because we opposed you. You said we were disqualified because we were somehow cheating. How did we do that? You neither gave evidence or proof.

Re: SOSU2010: Clearing Things UP!

The way you are dealing with this matter is not right.(Or is very unclear) Firstly, you change the rules AFTER the Registration date is over, which gives Maldova less time to react (actually -1/2 days ).

Secondly, America also has a similar case but they get no penalty /disqualifiaction

Thirdly, the basis on which Maldova's member got disqualified / removed from Scratch is also unclear.

Yet you decided to CARRY ON WITH YOUR WORK.

I dont think it is justified, considering the fact that Maldova got disqualified ONLY because of defending their team member and Opposing the unclear picture of the circumstances (even if in a hyper way).

TO add to all this, you are editing posts silently, which everyone will agree is UNFAIR and wrong

illusionist - This quote is from Team Maldova wrote:

Disrespecting moderators is an important part of "Scratch Code" (ToU), though not directly stated. The penalty list states that any violation of the ToU will lead to a disqualification. If a member is banned, that member no longer has access to the Scratch website and is booted from the contest, leaving the team a member short. Undersized team is also a penalty. Disrespecting these rules, especially in such a rude manner to the face of a moderator, is NOT acceptable. Because of the actions of this team, you may no longer participate in the contest.

Firstly, the disrespect was directly a result of alleged unfairity (Does this word exist) and secondly, the fact that you are a Moderator does not make you IMMUNE TO CRITICISM FOR PROBLEMS IN CONDUCTING THE OLYMPICS.

And that phrase in bold was added after the registration date. CAN YOU IMAGINE THE ORGANISERS OF THE REAL OLYMPICS MAKING RULES 2 DAYS BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT ?

The other part in bold was also added AFTER the registration date.

You should not forget that the ORGANISER of this event and not the MODERATOR is coming under fire for unfairity. Then how did Maldova get disqualified.

P.S. Maldova were even ready to replace the member under question by another member, if this issue were proved to be showing that they ought to be disqualified.

Hence Maldova was also not liable for disqualification under the grounds of UNDERSIZED TEAM

This is just incredibly stupid. This is not a penalty of the terms of use. It's a FRIENDLY CONTEST FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. You're getting 2 worlds mixed up. It's unfair to disqualify a team for such, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people agree with me.

QFT

This is the best answer all day. Your using your mod powers to dictate a friendly competition.

Also, what was the person banned for. If it was that cuss word that was removed I am guessing illusionist was the one who banned him.

I am trying to be polite, but there are points that we need to get across, and osme are only so polite.

Ehem... does YOUR PREFENCE has anything to do with the rules ??

And why was only Maldova penalized and NOT America ?

I would prefer you don't turn fingers at my team. I feel like the fingers are pointed at me and that I did something wrong.

iamrpk decidedd to leave the team than have us get penalized. I realize that should also happen here, but I'm not sure if this iamrpk was banned or not so I can't say much more.

Cool, Moldova has supporters!

Soupoftomato, instead of fighting amongst each other we should be working towards letting all the teams compete (besides Japan, unless you guys want to. We're still unclear about this, but as it's been said before this is only a friendly competition)

Okay, first of all, the illusionist quote that said he needed a list of our members was posted on the 23rd, not the 24th. That makes a pretty big difference, I think. Second, did you actually read the rest of the Japan and Korea threads? If you did, you would know that at 21:38:26, on July 22nd, in the Best Koreans thread, Joeisawesome agreed to join our team. And at 21:45:43, on July 22nd, in the Team Japan thread, shamrocker (our captain) officially accepted joeisawesome into our team. So we were not late.

OK. I made a mistake in the Date and I've Changed it .

But officially, you made no announcement that you are merging. I did see those threads but the fact was that the merger was niether re-CONFIRMED from either side (ie. You never posted a thread like "FINE " or "OK"  or ... which confirms the fact that you merged) NOR did you OFFICIALLY tell this either to illusionst (before the registration time) or in the official Summer Olympics thread. What do you think people will do ... Read EVERY post in EVERY team just to confirm that you are participating ??

AND EVEN IF PEOPLE READ ALL POSTS, WE ARE "NOT" PLAYING A MIX AND MATCH GAME WHERE WE WILL READ POSTS IN KOREA'S THREAD AND UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS FOR THE POST IN JAPAN'S THREAD

But its OK that you are here. YOU WERE a little late but its fair enough that you are allowed to participate.

America, I bear no grudge against you for not being disqualified. And you DID NOT DO ANYTHING WRONG.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, NO ONE will point any fingers at EITHER Japan or America if the Organiser relaxes the rules a bit for them.

Our problems come WHEN Maldova gets DISQUALIFIED for virtually the same CRIMES .

Does ANYONE think Maldova being disqualified was fair when Other teams were not disqualified ???

[P.S. JAPAN AND AMERICA, FINGERS ARE NOT BEING POINTED AT YOU. ITS ONLY AT ILLUSIONIST FOR BEING UNFAIR AND YOU TWO TEAMS ARE BEING USED FOR COMPARISION SINCE ALL TEAMS HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS.]
