Hi, I have come up with an idea for a site that allows users to upload games and other users to rate them. I'm thinking scratch will be one of the accepted upload formats.
The site is in it's very early stages right now, and is really more a concept than a fully fledged idea, but take a look anyway. It is important to note that this is not instead of uploading to the galleries here, it is more to complement it (and linking to files from the gallery here will be one of the supported forms of adding a game)

What do you think? All criticism welcome.

Awesome idea! I think that all games that want to be on the site have to go through a quality test..a test to see if the game is good or high quality.
Flash, alice, and multimedia fusion should also be game creation programs that could be accepted onto the site.

well thats precisely the idea, bad quality games can be added, but they just wont score very highly.
and yes, flash and some others will be acceptable formats.

Hi, the URL has changed to http://piftos.cullen-online.com/ (just made it a subdomain of my other domain)
It now has a register function, and scratch projects can be uploaded once you are logged in.
Please play around with it, and upload a few games. (when uploading, scratch is to upload the .sb file, scratch_hosted is to link from scratch.mit.edu)
There is no rating function yet, but uploads, logins and registering works well.
oh yeah, I forgot to mention the name will be changing. Anyone got any ideas?

mich181189: I am really happy to see your site. Especially because you're linking back to the project on the Scratch website. This is a great example of how to successfully embed Scratch projects on other sites. Good luck and let me know if there is something we can do to make it easier for people to post on sites like yours.

How about we add a link to the project page that says "Add to piftos"?

hmm, will look into that. did you go for scratch or hosted_scratch?
edit: I've found the problem. Please re-submit it. The problem was the submit button and also the hidden field that submits type were only used if the upload box was also used!

I re-uploaded my game, but i got the "this project has been removed because multiple scratch members...blah" where on the site it has the game on there. Do i press 'scratch' for the type of game instead of hosted_scratch?

scratch is for uploading the .sb file
hosted_scratch is for linking to this site.

Just for anyone who didn't know, here's how to get the Scratch ID of your project:
Look at the URL of your project, which should be something like this:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/S65/23258
In this case, the Scratch ID would be 23258. You can do that with all projects.

Ok... just an update... I'm going away for a bit, but until I leave i will continue to make improvements to the site. I have a rating system (nearly) working so I'll deploy that once I've fine tuned it a bit. I'll also add flash and a few other forms of games. This will be really easy because all I have to do to add a new format is add a database entry!
