Most Amazing person you've ever met/know in person

Title says it all, who do you think is one of the greatest people currently living THAT YOU HAVE MET.  I don't want answers like Einstein or Elvis.  I also don't want answers like Bill Gates if you haven't met him.  Thank you.

Here's mine:  My older brother

I know, I know, how could my older brother be that cool?  Well let me tell you, it's really, really, really, really, really, really hard to follow in his footsteps.  Basically, he's always been the smartest person in his class.  Actually, he's been the best out of any class two years older than him.  He had memorized most of the world's countries, where they were, their names, and what countries they bordered before he even started Kindergarden.  The 3rd grade teachers used to call him up from class to recite the States in alphabetical order for their classes.  So he was smart in elementary school?  So what?  He had a 4.5 GPA for his high school career, and that was only because he took two years of math his freshman year.  But here's a really impressive thing about him:  He got perfect scores on both the ACT and the SAT!  If you don't know what those are, they're extremely hard tests that only about 5-10 kids get perfects on a year, and well over 20 million people take them a year.  As if that weren't enough, he was in the top forty college graduates in the United states, went on the game show Jeopardy!, ran a marathon, and is in Africa for his third time.  He is currently working in Kenya, testing methods for clean water distribution.  I can't tell you how hard it is to follow in his footsteps, but I also can't tell you how great it is to have this awesome of a brother who is only 21!

Myself. I could go into how amazing I am, but I don't feel like typing a giant wall of text.

Re: Most Amazing person you've ever met/know in person

I am arguably the most amazing person I know, but I don't want to sound conceited XD
So uhh.. What if we don't know someone who is 'amazing'? What's the alternative?

Your brother does sound amazing...  smile

I know a lot of amazing people and they're all amazing in different ways. I really like it when someone surprises me- like when I think I know a person well and then I find out something really cool about him/her.

I don't recall ever meeting any celebrities, except for Bono and Lady Gaga, but neither of those people would I call the most amazing. I can't answer your question. Your bro sounds cool, though.

Re: Most Amazing person you've ever met/know in person

Well none of you ever got to meet Jim Balsillie. He's actually an old friend of my dad's, and my dad was offered a job at RIM (a pretty high-ranking one) a few years ago, before the Blackberry was invented. But he didn't take it.

But Jim Balsillie gave me a chocolate bar one day, and I had no idea who he was. So I gobbled down the chocolate, oblivious to whose chocolate it was (his kids went to my siblings' school and I met him at a school play).
