I don't get it. I just can't understand what "I restarted my computer 3 times last week and the only program I downloaded was scratch 1.4. None of the other ones contain it." means.

Sorry to hear you have been having computer problems. Did your anti-virus software identify what virus you think was contained in the Scratch download?
Has anybody else been having problems in this area?

I've un-downloaded Scratch and downloaded it lots of times, and never once has it set off my anti-virus. Also, considering the amount of users that use Scratch without mentioning a virus, it seems unlikely that there is..
Two things to remember though are,
1) Some anti-virus's mistake a lot of downloaded programs as Virus's, and while the program might not be doing any harm, the anti-virus's may keep warning you.
2) Downloads aren't the only way to get virus's. Untrustworthy websites and adds etc: sometimes try to install Trojans, cookie grabbers and virus's onto your computer. Usually if you have an anti-virus it isn't a problem as it gets stopped immediately.
Hopefully it isn't too serious, but I really find it unlikely that the Scratch Team would deliberately attack users

I scanned it with AVG and it said it was safe. What are you talking about?
Did it set off your antivirus? A few years ago there was an incident where the uninstaller would make Avast go off, but it was fixed with an update (Avast, not the uninstaller). That could be what's going on.
If your computer is infected with a virus... are you sure you didn't get it somewhere else?

I don't think Scratch is infected with any kind of virus... It's made by a very well-respected group of people at a highly well-respected university. Out of curiousity, what led you to believe there was a virus in the program?

The scratch, image file may have set it off. Some viruses dont have to be downloaded. As long as your pc is conected to the internet, you can get a virus.Yout dont even need to have a browser running! If a browser stopped evrey virus it would have to be updated every 11 seconds.

If you downloaded it from the correct place (here), your Scratch has no viruses (unless a virus you already had moved into your Scratch). If you didn't download it from the right place, your Scratch may be a Trojan.
You're right - none of us would believe you. ^_^

Strange. Scratch 1.4 works normally on mine. Like coolstuff said, Scratch is well-respected and well-known and was made at a famous US universety. Maybe you didn't download it from the Scratch website like you're supposed to.

I dont have an anti-virus software. I have McAfee. It said it was ok, but there has been a Virus stalking me for a while now. I dont know what it is, I think it was scratch though.

I see the first topic of this post has been edited - and things seem to be working great! Glad to hear that Scratch is virus-free. And since the problem was solved...
... I'll close this topic
Happy Scratching!
