Unofficial Scratch Sites-Do You Think The Scratch TOU Should Apply?

What I mean is, if someone creates a site related to Scratch should it be bound by the Terms Of Use on the real Scratch site?

Here is my answer: no.

The reason being, even though it's related to Scratch, it's still technically YOUR site. So you can make the rules whatever the heck you desire them to be. It's just like creating a site about anything else.

What do you guys think? Posted on my iTouch at 5:07 AM.

Of course not. If it's unofficial, no one's forcing you to go there, so, tough.

Seconded. I might create a site like that. I've already created an unofficial Scratch wiki.

I think the TOU should apply.

I don't think the Scratch TOU should apply but the sites own TOU should be something that is simular.

Find someone post count. Click posts under username. Find number of pages. Times that by 40 for min and 60 for max and you have a rough estimate of post count.

Please explain why. Because I disagree, since it is YOUR site.

Yes, but you are getting visitors from scratch, which is a community of all ages. You don't have to make it apply, but you could.

Of course! You should be able to make it whatever you want, but if you want to do the Scratch Terms Of Use that's fine!

You're getting possibly very young visitors from Scratch, which has specific rules to protect those young kids. If you don't want to make your site go by the TOU, you should at least make it so that it is harder to get to the rest of your site if you start from Scratch.

Does that make sense?

Take ScratchTeens. I made it just for the purpose to not deal with the TOU. It's unofficial, so we don't have to follow Scratch's rules. Everything is pretty much uncensored. If a young kid comes upon it and sees what we're posting, too bad for them.

Seconded. I made a similar forum.
