Use something like audacity and export it as wav. It works usually then.

Hey awesome58, it sounds like your importing a music file that Scratch has difficulty converting (this often happens with the case of MP3 files). You may want to use a music file converter (such as Audacity) to convert the music file into an uncompressed wav file before importing it into Scratch.

All of that is true and you also have to convert itunes (MPEG4) to a wav format.

Actually, iTunes is .m4a file format, not .mp4 - while iTunes *can* play .mp4 files, what you buy off of iTunes is .m4a, which is AAC.
