There are some valid concerns raised here, but ease up a little, eh? Everybody makes mistakes. We'll be in touch with the current curator about this to make sure they have a better understanding of the guidelines.

That's good to hear. Maybe the curator accidently favorited the rude projects... or was tricked into doing it. I don't think leebee(or whoever)has bad intentions

If we can't get any good curators, the Scratch Team should take the job...They already feature projects.
Good point! Maybe they want the community to have a part.

Did you see her speech? It was a 3 sentence long paragraph with text speak. I wrote a 3 paragraph long, perfect grammar, mega-speech and I haven't been chosen.
It isn't completely about your speech... it's about who you are and how well the Scratch Team thinks you can do. Also, in the topic post it mentions that they want curators of all genres - programmers, artists, animators, RPGers, etc.. That might explain a bit.

Do they not check favorites ahead of time to make sure what is going to be curated right when she starts isn't bad?

Wasn't part of the reason the curator spot was added to try and lessen the amount of anime and art on the front page?
No, it was to try and help good projects that weren't being viewed.

If we can't get any good curators, the Scratch Team should take the job...I thought curating was supposed to be about:
1. Getting great projects that had hardly been viewed on the front page.
2. Seeing what Scratch users would choose.
3. About getting unique projects to be seen.
I know the Scratch Team would do a better job than us, but that's not the reason why they thought up curating, is it?
Amen.

I guess I was WAAY off on that one. I just thought that maybe it was a way to kind of silence the uproar of people rebelling against artists/animators at the time the position was created. Sometimes I wonder what goes on in my head...

No, they don't do that... that would be too hard and delay things.

We can't force the curator to change their preferences... maybe she likes that style of projects? Oh and can someone close this topic?

That's probably just what it is, since the real reason the Scratch team created the spot was so Scratchers of all kinds can show their favorite projects. If that's what they like, we just have to deal with it until their shift is over.

One of the projects I am talking about about had a swear word in the description, a swear word at the end of the project, and someone holding up a middle finger to you.
I am not just complaining because of them curating projects that in most people opinions didn't deserve it or are an exact copy of an other persons hard work, but because of the fact one broke the scratch rules many times.

... I thought copyrighted material wasn't to be featured or curated? So..... what's up with curated #3?
