Yah! My resource is popular! I'm so excited! Is there a limit to how long a resource can be on the front page?

Nope
BTW, your resource is the most downloaded of all the resources

I know! And I've only ever been on the Scratch Front Page once in THREE YEARS.
I guess the early bird gets the worm.
A question: I've got a sprite that contains music, but it is constructed out of Midi notes. Can you make a category for that?

But I don't want to. This way it hardly takes up any file space.
And when I say midi, I mean it uses the Scratch note blocks.
New question:
I just realized in my textbox sprite I have some extra costumes. Is there a way I can update the current one without deleting the old (like on the Scratch website)?

Nope - not yet.

*Sigh*. I guess that means they get SWC 2.0 preview costumes (I adapted the textbox I created for it).

No need to be discouraged! All big projects have many bugs, it'll be a fantastic journey! You guys are doing an amazing job.

I think it was 'image.bmp'.
Thank you for the wonderful system!!If it was lowercase, then that's a problem with the system. More problems, great

Ok. Can someone tell me when the ScratchR API is set up? Thanks!

Great job everyone! I love this website!!
Thanks, I'm really glad you like the work we've put into it

What if I wanted to just share a costume? Perhaps I missed a message about that somewhere....
You can just share it as .sprite This is to prevent people from using SR as a regular image host and avoids potential bot-uploads (if they figure they first have to create an account over here ah well )

- It would be nice to see thumbnails without having to click on the magnifying glass!
Indeed Thanks for the suggestion.

- I tried to upload a .bmp, I got a green checkmark, but when it came time to upload it said the format was not supported
We do not yet support bmp as it's not supported by PHP's default image functions and I wasn't interested to look into extensions xD And who still uses BMP?! xD
evhan55 wrote:
- I changed my user picture on the regular Scratch site but it's still my old one on the resources site?
Scratch uses some nasty trick to circumvent caching - it adds the todays date to the url: ..buddy/25062_med.png?t=2010-06-30+12%3A47%3A42 but I don't want to do something as nast as that (shame on you, andréd ). Even clearing your cache won't work as it's server-side caching that's causing the problem.

Great, now it requires you to log in to download. Now I can't download the sprites and sounds for my new game . Also, the site still won't let me log in, even when I use the correct case !
That seems very weird. Could you please email me on jorenlauwers - at- live.be to discuss the problem? As it's involving passwords and such, I'd rather not discuss it on a forum You can also contact me on Google Wave, Skype, ... Just request the info

Don't worry-we're changing the login system to a ScratchR API, so as soon as we get that up you'll be able to login
We already use it - I think that might be where the problem lies. Let me digg into it.

Feel happy xD

Upload it to others and put MIDI in the title, that'll be fine

Nope, not yet sorry

hehe lol - these are all bugs that are impossible to discover when no-one is using the system, I hope we'll get them all fixed

Thanks, but you should be saying that to JSO He's been doing the most work out of me, fg123, and ihaveamac. The thing is we couldn't really test all this out because our beta testers never had problems with logging in, and since we knew we were going to add stuff, but couldn't finish it before the release.
@terminator68 It's already up...
EDIT: Thanks for beating me too it, JSO!

@adriangl It still isn't working for me. I even tried "terminator68" instead of "Terminator68"!

I talked to Andrés (by email) what would be the best option for a shared login, and now it is using the ScratchR API (yes it exists ) . We thought this method - that is, sharing the same credentials but you still have to login/logout separately - was the easiest to make while still providing the functionality we wanted. It's made for SR but also future Scratch-related sites.
What about it?

No, he meant the other one. He said you should email him at "jorenlauwers (at) live.be" so you can discuss the matter more thoroughly.

While we know it is possible, please do not share 1 sprite 1 script projects on Scratch resources in a sprite.
What about things like Platforming bases? Are those discouraged too? I uploaded one earlier, and I guess it could be considered a project, but it is a resource as well

It is what Scratch exports costumes and backgrounds as. So you might want to fix that.

QFT
Add it JSO.

Really? I think you might be mistaken, because when I exported my background, I found that it was a BMP. Hmm....
