"You're", not "Your". You should learn grammar.
And look, I'm not trying to get rid of everything on scratch. I'm just trying to get rid of the excess stuff! If these rules are not enforced, you are all in danger of a troll attack!

Oh, and stop trolling, that was a terribly demeaning comment!
Maybe you should take your own adice!

Da_su_Ra1el, I totally agree. This place IS in danger of trolls. HOWEVER....there are no trolls! Why? I don't know. We're lucky, I suppose. Maybe the .edu keeps the trolls away. There was a period where the rules were pretty strict, but the Scratch Team realized that there were no trolls anyway, so it decided to adopt the relaxed attitude you see now.

Um, not really, no.
Anyway Scratch is a company so you have to give it a capital letter.
Banned for trolling

What A Grammar Nazi. also, THE COMMUNITY WOULD TOTALLY FALL APART. I'd stop using it! There's a line between prudent and ridiculous. You have gone over 9000 miles past that line.

I don't think we need to be so fearful and angry in this conversation. The Scratch community is actually pretty resilient. Sometimes there's drama, and sometimes there are trolls. But these things come and go as they tend to in many communities.
Constructive discussions about policy are welcome, as long as they stay respectful. And we do consider the different arguments put forth. But ultimately if some Scratchers disagree with the Terms of Use, and we are unwilling to change them to suit their tastes, they are welcome to leave and create their own online community with the standards that they prefer. Remember - no one forces anyone to hang out on Scratch against their will.

Lol,please don't use bad examples...
Anyway, you're not getting rid of the excess stuff. You're getting rid of quite a lot of important stuff...
1. Anonymous posting projects
Basically makes nobody want to work hard.
2. Freedom of speech
As in people can't talk the way they want to. Mild language is ok, ban that and I will actually leave.
3. No way out
Again, this is a major problem. Not only the learning from mistakes but the scratch team is sometimes the one making the mistake.
And you're suggesting to...
1. Restrict people with no actual proof that they've done something.
2. Suspect somebody because of their (most likely false) age.
3. Force people to make projects. Do you realize that sometimes schools make people sign up so that people can download? Also, where's the proof that they're not making a massive awesome first project? Your first project does not need to be basic.
4. User deletion. That's just stupid. Remove the things that were bad, leave the good things.

Alright, I'd like to thank Lightnin. The scratch community is tight and in ANY forum a troll will happen. If it happens, you ban. Thats the end of the story. Anyway, if you look at the mods that have posted on this, it's gaurenteed they acknowledge this post - and disagree. THE RULES WILL NOT BE CHANGING, MY FRIENDS.
Anyway, we can always just say Da_su-Ra1el was looking out for us, even if we disagree with his approach. Thank you, Da_su-Ra1el, but the Scratch Community is fine. In past things happen, but have you EVER been in a forum that doesn't have a troll or a problem? If you do, please post it!
To everyone, just try hard to keep scratch a good community and you're all doing a good job, so lets shrug this off (Even if it is funny/offending).
As much as I want to post a bunch of comments jabbing at this, I'm not going to because it's really not getting me anywhere, lol.

You (Not you, Jojo. The guy who called me a nazi) seem to be making fun of me.
And I mean, if somebody is making a huge first project, Okay. Give people a month to make a project then ban them.
Also, people SHOULD be a little paranoid. If it wasn't for paranoia during '20s and the cold war, America might have turned out to be communist.
Do we want scratch to become evil and communist?

He called you a "grammar nazi", which means that you jump on someone because they made the slightest grammar mistake. people of teh interwebs do not like grammar nazis, and point them out immediately, so that people can know who they are, and avoid them.
and, if the rules were as strict as you said, I'd just go on over to somewhere else. In my opinion, these rules would upset much of the scratch community, and they would leave. the artists to deviantart, the RPers to their own websites, and the programmers to a more advanced program. then where would the new people be? stranded here all by themselves, with no inspiration or peers. then, where would they go? nowhere. they would just leave scratch, and give up programming. i believe that the rules are fine as they are, and that the scratch community can hold its own. if you would like to implement these rules, then i suggest you make your own site, where you can implement them.

No. But really? No criticising Scratch? According to you, we'd be communist either way. So let's stay the same.

No, we don't want scratcg to become communist.
But, because of the variety of ages of the users we cant actually do this very well!
what you are saying is that if ANYONE makes a spelling mistake
(and by the way-When i was like 7, the age of a few scratch users, I always made a couple of spelling mistakes) They could have a PERM ban-doesn't that seem ridiculous....
Plus if you see anyone trolling you should press the report button on the comment.
I have been here since 2007 and there has not been to many trolling incidents. This is because of the kind nature of the scratch community. Therefore the few "trolls" would be quite noticable out from the rest.
And one of the things you commented on was user deletion. Yes, we only delete the bad things that people have done. Not the good things! This is because someone could have made the greatest project on scratch, and other people want to see it.
Imagine if we implement your rules *thought bubble appears*
Oh no, he got banned. But i loved his snake project!!! What did he get banned for?????
~checking email~ What, He got banned for Bad Grammar!!!!! He wasn't even past 7 years old!!!!!
*end thought bubble*
Now image it as it is:
~Ahh, i love this snake project. Better comment on it and press love it~

Illusionist was once banned, then came back, and now he's a community moderator. What do you think about your 'people don't reform' rule now?

You got it right. Even I was once banned. I've already posted my argument twice for that point on this thread, but it can't hurt to post it again:
This is something I strongly disagree with. Many people learn from their mistakes. I know that I was banned once when I was younger, more naïve Scratch user. Have I changed? Of course. Would I ever do anything that might remotely get me banned these days? Of course not. I would have been permanently banned two years ago if these systems were put into effect, and then you wouldn't have your favourite moderator Especially at the targeted age group of this website, people who use this website will be changing dramatically as they become more mature.

A lot of mods were banned then there ban ran out. They learned from their mistakes and don't even try to comment on me grammar i can do wotever i plz! It is ridiculous to ban 'em if they have bad 'rammar 'coz thats what a lot of teens do. ABBREVIATE to make it easier to type. And while on that fact-I probably cant spell. YEah, So what!!!!
