You know, I'm not too sure. I *think* it means after you post on the forums.

I was going based on what freddythef said.
What do you mean by "after you sign up"?

Yeah, it's after you sign up on scratch. I was automatically a member when I posted my first post.

Well, you signed up before the New Scratcher system was put into effect; you were automatically a member as you signed up. People who signed up in the last month or so are "New Scratchers" until the time they have to wait is up.

That's what I meant. When I said 1 month, I meant current New Scratchers, not me.

Yes, what I meant to ask was:
Who said it was 1 month until New Scratchers become Scratchers?

Not that he would know any more than anyone else. I was just going from that. Sounds like a reasonable amount of time.

Wouldn't it be one month from when you first visited the forums instead of your first post? It's what they do with the forum registration date...
Gveradux's registration date is over a month old, though...
Scratch Team, please clarify.

Perhaps the upgrading thing isn't working right? Or it might be measured from the first post... I'm not too sure whether it's that, or the join date...

No. Even if it is after a month, it's not automatic. It just doesn't work that way

You just have to be registered for a certain period of time and not be banned - then you will automagically be upgraded.
I'm not entirely sure what automagically means but it must not mean automatically because this sort of thing can only be taken off manually

It does mean automatically - so automatic it's like magic!
It's not entirely automatic, but it's just a matter of having the server run a simple line of code every day.
I asked the Scratch Team why New Scratchers haven't turned into Members yet; their response was that they'll be starting really soon - they just need to get the code finished.

That's a really good question! My guess is, yes, it will, but perhaps I'm wrong...
I went through a ton of threads, but eventually found some New Scratcher's here, so, yes

Well, I think Chrischb was asking if the New Scratcher - Member upgrade code applied to the TBG, too - See my earlier post
