Scratch

Do you know what kind of picture file it is that you are trying to upload (JPEG, PNG, BMP, etc) and the file size?

Does it let you select the file, but it just doesn't seem to upload or is it that you can't even select the file?

Its a jpeg and it is 4kb it lets me pick the file but when I press update it brings me to a blank screen. Oh and I also have a mac... would that have anything to do with it?

I don't have a Mac so I can't help you there.  As for the file format...I'm pretty sure I've used JPEG images and the size doesn't sound like it's too big.  One thing I have noticed is that sometimes you have to shut your browser down and restart it before you will see the picture change.  Have you tried that yet?

I recently (this morning) created a new gallery of my own and have NOT been able to upload a picture to it.  I have tried both PNG and JPEG formats (both quite small) with no success.  The symptoms are as follows:

1. I click on the Change Picture link and the Browse/Update fields appear

2. I click on Browse and a file selector appears.  I'm able to select a file from my computer (the desktop area) and the file path loads in to the text field and looks correct.  I have tried removing all the spaces from the file name - no difference.

3. Then, I click on the Update button...my browser page clears to a blank page with a URL similar to this http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/updatepic/22326

4. A load bar briefly appears on the bottom of the screen then a message of Done appears in the lower left corner.  The blank page remains up.

5. I exit the browser and restart it to clear any caches it might be maintaining.  I visit the gallery and it still has the default picture...my update appears to have no effect.

I would appreciate it if the Scratch team could take a look at this. 

Is anybody else running into this problem?  Have you discovered a work around?  Thanks for any help you can give.

I've only just joined and it won't even let me change my user picture. It was exactly the same as the original exept i gave it two eyes and a nose.

hehehehe windows user. Doesn't it crash, like,every day? My old one crashed just about every ten minutes. My mac now crashes about every 10 months!

Happened to me too, i have a mac and image was a animated GIF. All it did when i hit update was reload the page. the image didn't change at all.

I can't change my user's picture either. My picture is a JPEG and it is 16.0 KB large. I can select the picture, but it won't change it or keep the address there. My Gallery's picture won't change either. If you're looking at this page, please search for my gallery (FleetAdmirals Gallery) and add a few projects.
