i have no ideas or suggestions on how to fix this, any ways
scratch runs very slow when your making a complicated sprite with lots of scripts i'm sure its not because of my computer because i tried on a different one but still the same thing happens any ways it does not actually crash scratch it just makes it take about one to two seconds to respond to a simple task like putting a number in, this doesn't happen when spriteing though, please fix this as soon as possible because its frusrating having to wait so long to program something
sorry for any spelling errors

Yep - things run insanely slow with longer scripts. Sometimes just adding a single block to a longer script can take several minutes.
I know no ways to fix this, other than going into the task manager (Control+Alt+Delete), going to processes, right-click on "Scratch.exe" and set it to high priority.

Not that I know of, unfortunately, though the difference it makes is barely even noticeable. Splitting your scripts up is the best method as of right now - that's the only reason my Pathing AI has 2 scripts

To do it on a Mac, press Command+Option+Escape.
He was referring to setting the priority to high, rather than force quitting the application.
Searching the internet, I've found the only solution to be quitting other applications you don't need to be running.

Yeah, I realized that. That's why I deleted the old post. I bet there's a way to do it in the activity monitor, but I'm not sure.

Oh, I didn't realize you'd deleted your post!
I did a little Google-ing and found that there is a way to do it, but it requires some use of the terminal, which I know very little about.
