Dear Scratch Team,
I miss the text-based games. Can the forum be brought back onto this site? It just makes it feel like it's the same community.
Who else wants them back??

There's the TBG forums - it's the same community, just in a different place
Here it is: http://scratch.mit.edu/tbgforums. TBG away!

coolstuff, how do i get there from the forums home or from the front page?
You can't... Just add 'tbg' infront of the 'forum' in the forum link. Or book mark it.

The TBG is a different community. It's like the forumers and the RPers, but now it's the forumers and the TBGers. That's why I don't play anymore; because it doesn't feel right.

I'm pretty much the same. When it was on /forums I was there a lot. When it moved to /tbgforums I was like bleh. Now I go there once in a while to play a game that I wish was real or a movie. Or atleast an animation. But I can do that part. Movie is cooler.

Same with me. I use to play TBGs all the time, but since it moved, I never do.

What is it that makes you want to play in the TBG on the Scratch Forums and not at the TBG forum?
Ahhh... is it because of raising your post count?
I think the new TBG is much better than the old - it has special moderators, it's separate from the Scratch Forums, there are Featured Games, there are Operation Cleanups where unneeded topics get cleared away, and so on. It's well maintained.

It probably is better, I just don't really bother. It just feels like a whole different community to me. One where I don't fit in. (Not that I really fit in here anyway xD)

My guess is that's because there is a whole different set of people who use the main forums and the TBGs. The same would happen if the forum were located here.

I think the reason they changed it to a new and separate forum was because it was causing too much work for the normal moderators.

Exactly, and since the TTBGs have nothing to do with Scratch.

You're right!
And also because it was a source of fights. It's not a problem in the new TBG - the moderators can focus on dissolving fights more; when it was in the Scratch Forums, the moderators had plenty of stuff to deal with - they couldn't spend as much time caring for the TBG as the moderators in the new TBG can.

I just go to misc., then add tbg behind forums in the url bar. It works, because both id's are 46. But you have to be in the index of misc., if not it doesn't work.
scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewforum.php?id=46
scratch.mit.edu/tbgforums/viewforum.php?id=46
You can also simply put scratch.mit.edu/tbgforums in your url bar.

It's not a matter of post count for me. The TBG just feels detached. Now that I think about it, the whole site feels the same way. I guess it's developed.
