I'm gonna go into middle school this year, and I decided to do middle school band for music classes. Out of all the instruments, I wanted to play the flute. Wish granted: Now I'm getting flute lessons with a few other girls (My flute class is all girls, including me) at my middle school. But I had to rent on before my parents buy on, so I've recently rented a silver Yamaha flute with a silver emboucere plate (The emboucere plate is where you put your mouth while playing the flute). The only notes I know so far a D, C, and B Flat. My D's sound horrible, my B Flats sound wonderful, and my C's are so-so. But now, its going good so far. I practice 15 to 20 minutes every day, and I'm still working on switching my fingers to every key without having to look (XD, I'm sometimes like that when I play instruments I've never used before). So I might not be on Scratch for 15 or 20 minutes a day. Let me know if you play an instrument, too! There might be other junior musicians like me out there!

Oh, I started oboe in 5th grade!
It's a really awesome instrument. Double reed. Take that, clarinets!~

Speaking of clarinets, I tried the clarinet, but I didn't like the feel of the single reed buzzing on my bottom lip. I almost tried oboe, but my mind was on flute. So then my decision was flute. And now I can't wait until my parents buy me one so that I don't have to use a rental!

I play the piano, learning guitar(so-so), and I used to play the clarinet for the school band.
I practice 1.5 hours each day, and I have a composition lesson as well.
My dad plays a base guitar, a violin, a base, and a piano, my brother plays the violin, and my mom plays anything percussion, piano, and a bit of violin.
Let's say my family is musical.

Eww... Renting a flute? Doesn't that mean someone has used it before? It's like saying "Hey! Here's a spoon that I squashed a bug with! *Puts in soup you're eating* I washed it off
" xD

I play the piano and am on grade 4. I used to play the clarinet but I got bored and didn't practise so I gave up. I have a cello, no idea how to play it (must remember to get lessons) so I just sort of mess about on it. Anyway at the moment in my piano lessons we are practising for the concert (Sunday)

Sounds fun! My brother plays the flute.
I play trombone mostly, but I also goof around on the piano and the euphonium/baritone. I also played trumpet for a year.
You play trombone? I go to a math summer school that's in the same building where I take band lessons, and there's a boy in my class and he plays trombone for the middle school band. He says that carrying it is like he's carrying a huge rock in a case XD

It's not bad... Better than a tuba or bari sax anyway.

It's pretty intresting, and now I know the notes F and E Flat. Also, I can switch from key to key pretty well. I also used to play recorder too, but that was when I was in fourth grade a couple years ago.

Woah. That's a long time to practice. The longest I've practiced my flute was 25 minutes.

I play the Cello. I'm playing it next year when I go to middle school too. I don't like to brag, but I'm pretty good xD I was in All County Orchestra, which we had to audition for . We missed school for practice, and we played challenging compostions and stuff.
It was really fun
Instruments are fun

The only REAL songs (The starter songs for flute lessons are made up) I can play on my flute right now are Cadriff By The Sea (Welsh folk song) and Easy Street (From the Broadway musical Annie). But I'm still learning!
