2nd Seasonal Scratch Awards: Host Needed!!!
This spring, Funkymonkey had hosted the Spring 2008 Scratch Awards. It was pretty awsome. Now, many new users and new projects have been posted, so let's have the Summer 2008 Scratch Awards!!!
(I just want to say though, I gave the Spring 2008 Scratch Awards to Funkymonkey and the gallery was featured, so technicaly, I actually had something featured... but Funkymonkey did a fantastic job!)
What we need...
-An active user that is well know for his/her great games.
-A Main Gallery
-A gallery for each catagory (details below)
-A critic for each catagory
-Some sponsors (details below)
-Sprite pack prizes (details below)
Catagories:
-Best Game
-Best Graphics
-Best Music
-Best Platformer
-Best Animation
-Best Tool/Engine
Sponsors:
Galleries can sponsor the Scratch Awards by saying so in their gallery description, as well as provide a link.
Sprite Prize Packs:
A simple collection of sprites that will be given to everybody. Don't worry, they will all be the same. Just a simple batch of sprites that were made specificly for the Scratch Awards.
If you would like to host the Summer 2008 Scratch Awards, post so here. Remember, only people who have earned the right to do something wonderful like this will get it. This means that if you just kinda make random projects and signed-up last month, you probably won't get the spot.

Can Hoopla Laboratories sponsor it? We don't have a gallery yet, but when I make one we'll link to you.

How do you choose the best of the best? If so, check out some of my projects, mainly 3D ones. My newest project which combines the famous 3d tank and famous 3d checkerboard makes some of the best graphics I personally have ever seen.

Is this just asking for a sponsors thing right now or can you actually enter a project? Just wondering. Oh and when do project entrys get cut off?

Well, this will be running until September 1st. July 1st to August 1st will be the time period for nominating projects. August 1st to August 31st will be playing the games. September 1st will be when the results are out. This is asking for a host and a sponsor.

We find users who are known for having great taste in games. They are the people who decide which games are the best.

You can host it. But if you are a critic for Best game or Best platformer, you can't enter your games in those catagories. Hosts can win too though. Dingdong, you're looking good towards being the host. You're the type of user I'm looking for.

I think you would be great with Best Graphics. If you don't like that, you could always do "Best Tool/Engine". I'm reserving "Best Animation" for MahoAshley, since she has so many featured and front page animations.

Well, once I find a host and the main gallery is setup, all you need to do is say that SOS is a proud sponsor of the Summer 2008 Scratch Awards. Include a link to the main gallery, and you should also make a Jweb page on SOS to advertise. Right now, I'm updating PixBites 2.0, so that throughout the Summer, there will be a Summer Scratch Awards PixWeb page, as well as a little download.

Toasty, Digifox asked just before you. Oh well. You can do Best Tool/Engine. I think best tool/engine is sweet because AddZero has so many sick projects. Archmage will be in big doo doo if he doesn't release another outstanding engine.
