How much is 1444 KB?

I'm making a big project, and when I did an upload test, it said it was only 1444 KB. How much is that? I know you can only have 10 MB, but I don't understand Gigabytes and Megabytes.

Can someone post something like how many KBs in 1 MB?

That is a bit more than 1 MB, according to a converter on the internet. So you're fine.

Wow. It's over just one MB and it's 90% done. That's amazing.

Re: How much is 1444 KB?

It is almost 1.5 MB
1024 KB = 1 MB.
I always count MB by 1000 KB just for estimations
There is a pretty basic pattern to figuring out computer file sizes:
256 KB = 0.25 MB
512 KB = 0.5 MB
1024 KB = 1 MB
2048 KB = 2 MB
...
See the pattern?
The same thing goes for MB to GB
256 MB = 0.25 GB
512 MB = 0.5 GB
1024 MB = 1 GB
2048 MB = 2 GB

The way I remember it is that you can always get 2 to an exponent to get these numbers  smile

When I went camping when I was like, 8, I used to go up to about 32768, just multiplying two over and over again...

Really? In 3rd grade, I used to recite "doubles" (powers of 2) during recess. I got to like, 1024, but our recesses are only 15 minutes long.  big_smile

Yawn, another boring text signature. I should really make something better.

1444 KB is how much you tortured me with the "Amy Roll'd" thing.

Just like me xD
Though I don't think I classify as a 'geek' because when bullies try to mess with me, they usually end up in the position I'm supposed to be in...
Naw, I'm still a geek x3

Re: How much is 1444 KB?

Like everyone said.

8 bit = 1 byte
100 bytes = 1 kb
1024 kb = 1 mb
1024 mb = 1GB

I think.

Hai.

Re: How much is 1444 KB?

This is roughly

1000kbs = 1 MBs
1000mbs = 1 GBs
1000Gbs = 1 TBS (big!)
