For goodness sake, the Octopus is a load of rubbish. The people who won the lottery have a 1/14 million chance of winning and they have.
There is a 1/2 chance of the Octopus guessing right. To get a 1/14 million chance the closest is 2^24, so the Octopus would need to guess 24 games correctly in a row to get it.
However, there are people who have simultaneously won the game. Two people winning with a chance of 1/14 million simultaneously is a chance of 1/196,000,000,000,000. That's over 40 games in a row the Octopus needs to guess correctly to get an approximate chance. The Octopus is nothing special. Psychics don't exist.
