Two important questions about my Sonic and Mario games
1) Do you mind if I skip Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3? Because they're pretty much the same, just with a different story.
2) Would you prefer it if, instead of having the same graphics as the actual game but not a very big game, I drew the graphics myself, so there could be better gameplay and a bigger game, but not very good graphics?

1) No, that's fine.
2)You should have other people make the sprites for you, then compress the sounds and images.
