Look. Scratch knows why we shouldn't give out e-mail. I actually read terms of use which you will find if you scroll all the way down the web page. It reads:
Keep personal information private. Don't share your email address, phone number, or other personal contact information.
Notice it says e-mail adress.

ARRGH jeez, too many threads about [removed] like this, like the "rated-m" thread, and this, and BLAH-DEE-BLAH. I. DONT. CARE. please, if you want to teach people about safety, make your OWN forum! jeez! (us >:} )

We have talks about this every year at school, and every year I get more scared of the internet. There's a reason I don't have a facebook account, and it's because I don't walk stalkers to find me. I'll get one in a few years, though.
Myspace is creepy, however. It is probably worse than Facebook. I don't have a Facebook, but I know to be safe.
I once gave out my name and the state where I lived
. Only a few people I trust know.

While it's fine to disagree with how someone does something, try to keep calm when posting to tell them that. A little respect goes a long way when you're trying to prove a point
Thanks.

Yeah, it's sorta like, I can like pizza more than hamburgers, and you can like humburgers more than pizza!
The reason I posted this is because I've seen so many people online giving out their numbers and their street name.
...And I've not seen a post like this post on the Scratch fourms.

I'm glad you posted it...it's good to be reminded of basic safety precautions we should all take on the internet. And, as you point out, it is required by the Terms of Use

Yep.
Giving out where you live is the most dangerous thing you can do on the internet.
Giving your email isn't TOO bad since the worst they can do is spam you then and you can just block them.

I'm a girl! I don't get carried away. I only give my email to friends on Scratch who I've known for at least a year. Or people I've know on a chat and Toontown.
Wait a second... Did you EVER meet a brown dog named Rainbow? EVER? Or a tall blue rabbit name Prof. Lily Flipperfish? Those gals are who I play as!!!

Online people. That guy is soooo cute!!! Saw his pics? He's hot, isn't he? WRONG. Fake, fake, fake! Think again before you give out your personal details!
Lots of people do it. I was on a chatroom and I saw someone give out their mobile number. Everyone could see. As their eyes read it, the person could easily just text them saying 'ik who u r.' That would be freaky! Yes it would.
It's not safe AT ALL. If you're trying to hook up and get to meet up with the guy/gal in real life, it's unsafe. Example :
Guy : heyyy any hot chicks wnna date ?
Gal : ya im free wnna date mine is *** ******* ***... u?
Guy : kwl i live near there wnna meet in ******** park?
Gal : kwl cya thre cya jake
Guy : cya lara
And at the park the guy isn't really an innocent teen like you. He's a dangerous adult that could rob you, murder you or anything like that... Or maybe he/she is. You never know, and stranger danger is overrated Another example.
Person no1 : hi evry1 wnna chat
Person no2 : sur howz u
Person no1 : gdgd u
Person no1 : gd wnna meet up smewhere cuz im bord
Person no2 : yea i live at ** *********** road
Person no1 : im at ** ******** avenue were near thre meet at ur place
Person no2 : kwl.... so um wats ur name?
^ yeah that... is unlikely.
Don't take people for pieces of text. You can't 'get to know someone' online. You have to in real life.
But since our real life interactions are being destroyed by Internet, how do we meet other people outside of school/workplace?
It's creepy!
But common sense is not.
Never give out your e-mail, phone, or adress.
Hmm... What about when I try to register to a cinema booking system? Or that cheap online printer inks store?
Hope this comes in handy!
not... really
Remember, it's like if you just had your fone tattooed on to your forehead. If some random called and tryed to threaten you! Keep safe! Thank you, Capitan PSA!

Look, if you don't agree, then don't comment. KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. All the really annoying posts can't get deleted, like comments can so if you don't agree don't comment. I don't want to know if you think I'm wrong because you are driving me UP THE WALL. These posts are really annoying, and somewhat embassasing.
