I want to get a song off the internet in my game but I don't know how.

Re: inporting sound

Assuming the song is already on your computer:

In the "Sounds" tab overtop of where you put the scripts, press the "Import" button at the top, select your sound, and voila!

You can only import .wav and .mp3 sound formats, though.

Re: inporting sound

If it's not on your computer, you'll need a microphone. Put the microphone up to your speakers, press record under the sounds tab, and start the song.

If you have a Mac, there's always Cycling Soundflower.

Re: inporting sound

The best way to record a sound from the internet would be to download it from the page. Unfortunately, that usually requires third party software unless a link to download is provided. So here's another way (for Windows) that works and gives good quality sound:

Open the sound you want to record, but don't play it yet. Now, open the Sound Recorder program in Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment. (Where it is located may vary depending on your version of Windows.)

Once you have it open, go to Edit>Audio Properties. In the window that pops up, under Sound Recording, click Volume. Another window will pop up with volume controls for various audio devices, including Line Volume and Stereo Mix. Check the box in the Stereo Mix section. Close the window, and now click OK in the Audio Properties window.

Now, click the record button in Sound Recorder. As fast as you can, start playing the audio you want to record. When it's done playing all you want to record (it has to be less than 60 seconds), click the stop button in Sound Recorder. (You can use the Delete before/after Current Position tools in the Edit menu to trim the sound, but you don't have to.) Now save your sound, import it into Scratch, and you're done!

Got it? Hope that helps!

I don't think it's that hard to download it from the internet - if there's a link to it, right-click and select "download linked file..." or something to that effect, depending on what web browser you're using  smile

A lot of sounds/videos with sounds you want are played in a plugin, meaning you can't directly download easily.

I'm just sayin'.

Really? Most of the sounds and videos I download have a direct link...

i guess it depends where you find it. I get a lot of audio from YouTube, simply because of the massive amount of content there.

Re: inporting sound

You can import from youtube? I don't. I "steal" sounds from other projects(is this okay?) by downloading them, exporting the sounds and then importing them onto my project.

Sounds "stolen"

THIS IS SPARTA

Monster by Skillet
Fireflies by Owl City
Lalalala by Unknowed

Error:Signature could not load. Please wait for an indefinite amount of time, until you realize you're gullible and go off to look for another potentially interesting signature to stare at.

I believe you can use it as long as it is a remix...
Not sure if it is the same as putting it in a new project, though
